During the summer (July & August) the MFA hosts their "MFASummerFrida ys" every Friday evening from 5:30-9:30pm. Wonderful art inside, mellow music outside in the Courtyard, sundowners from the cash bar and the entertaining company and conversation of many of Boston's culturally aware singles are what you will find at this event. For additional information, see the MFA web-site at: MFA SummerFridays Meet up at the MFA entrance at 6:00pm, or find us inside the MFA thereafter. Please RSVP a firm Yes or No by Friday mid-afternoon so that the Organizer knows roughly how many / who to expect at the event. Any questions? Please E-mail Event Hostess (Robyn) For those who RSVP Yes: If you would like a cellphone contact number to make it easier to meet up / coordinate on the day, let me know and I will e-mail you accordingly.

For more than 20 years the Boston Beanstalks have gathered on the first Friday night of the month at the Riverbend Lounge (formerly the Windjammer) at the Newton Marriott. This is the biggest regularly scheduled event on our calendar. It's not uncommon to see 40 or more tall people here, and you won't be the only new or prospective member! This is the place to start your social calendar planning, arrange carpooling for various events, and find out what's going on with all your Tall friends. Location: Marriott Hotel, 2345 Commonwealth Avenue (Rt. 30) in Newton Time: 6-8 PM, usually dinner afterwards to 10pm Cost: optional drinks Directions: Rt. 128 to exit 24 (Rt. 30). At the end of the ramp, go right. The Marriott is just ahead on your left. More on the Newton Marriott

Been a member of this Meetup but never attended any events? Here's a great opportunity to change that! We really want to meet all the folks whose names and pictures we see on our Meetup, but whom we have yet to meet in person. The Watch City Brewing Company in Waltham is a great informal location, ideal to mix and mingle and relax at the end of the week. So come along and have a fun and friendly Friday evening with everyone. Directions to Watch City: From 128 North/South, take Exit 26 (Rt 20 East). Follow Rt 20 East for approximately 1 1/2 miles (7 lights) through downtown Waltham until you see Sovereign Bank on your right. Take that right onto Moody Street. Follow Moody Street until the second set of lights. Watch City is directly on the left at the intersection of Moody and Pine. There is parking (free after 6 PM) behind the restaurant. Just take the left at Pine Street and the second left after the building. If you prefer public transportation, the Waltham Commuter Rail Station is just off Moody Street, approx. 2 blocks away from Watch City . Waltham is on the Fitchburg Commuter Rail line, fourth stop after leaving from North Station in downtown Boston. NOTE: Be careful where you park in Waltham. Make sure you park in one of the Municipal Parking lots, or in the Watch City parking lot (which is FREE from 6pm onwards). If you happen to park in the lots in front of or behind the Enterprise Car Rental Agency on Moody Street, your car WILL be towed. It is big bucks and a lot of hassle to retrieve your card from the Tow Yard (I speak from personal experience!).

We'll meet at the Eliot T stop in Newton (D line) and wander with our fellow Singles from The Post Club around a little known but charming section of Newton Upper Falls, one of the oldest of Newton's 13 villages - and explore Hemlock Gorge and Echo Bridge. Maybe we'll even see the famous pothole on the corner of Sullivan Avenue and Elliot Street that was caused by the spinning bolder for many many years at the base of a now defunct waterfall. We'll end up at Newton Upper Falls' very own gastropub, the Biltmore. (Make sure to try its deep fried macaroni and cheese crouquets...highly recommended!)

Linda Kamphausen is hosting a picnic at Goddard Park in East Greenwich, Rhode Island on the Summer Solstice, June 21st ? the first day of summer and longest day of the year! We'll have a picnic with bocce playing, cards/board games at the picnic table and we'll be cooking stuff on the habachis there. Linda is providing the Saugies (Rhode Island hot dogs), and please feel free to bring your own grill items or a dish to share. "BYOB, but any hooch would have to be under wraps because I'm sure it is not officially allowed at the park. Please feel encouraged to bring your own yard games (horseshoes, volleyball, kickball)! There are other activities such as horseback riding and golf at this park (our picnic spot is right next to the golf course!), not to mention that it is on Narragansett Bay, and it has a beach of sorts (not RI's best in my opinion, but hey, it's a place to get a tan started if you want!) and/or you could put a boat or kayak in if you want to, using their boat launch." Check out the Rhode Island State Park website (scroll waaay down after clicking Goddard Memorial State Park): http://www.riparks.c om/goddard.htm. There is no charge to enter the park! On your way home we can stop and see Waterfire up in Providence! We are meeting others on the patio at Citron, right next to Waterplace Park (near Capital Grill) around sunset (8:30!)
