Aside from screening RWC 2007, The Green Briar screens NFL, basketball, baseball etc. etc. so there's something for every sports fan @ this pub. But on this day it's International Rugby that will be the focus - that's why they're opening the pub up early!

The RWC game starts @ 3pm, and like all sports players we'll need to warm up beforehand - hence the start time of 2pm for those that want to come in for an early warm-up... :)
Typically a rugby game runs 40 minutes each way/half, with approx. 10 minutes between the 2 halves of the game, so the game should be over by 5pm.

For more than 20 years the Boston Beanstalks have gathered on the first Friday night of the month at the Riverbend Lounge (formerly the Windjammer) at the Newton Marriott. This is the biggest regularly scheduled event on our calendar. It's not uncommon to see 40 or more tall people here, and you won't be the only new or prospective member! This is the place to start your social calendar planning, arrange carpooling for various events, and find out what's going on with all your Tall friends.

Location: Marriott Hotel, 2345 Commonwealth Avenue (Rt. 30) in Newton
Time: 6-8 PM, usually dinner afterwards to 10pm
Cost: optional drinks
Directions: Rt. 128 to exit 24 (Rt. 30). At the end of the ramp, go right. The Marriott is just ahead on your left.

NOTE: Be very careful where you park. Do NOT park on or behind the Enterprise lot opposite the restaurant - you WILL be towed (and it will cost you $110+ to get your car back!!).

Some of our out-of-town Tall friends are visting & heading to Vincents NightClub in Randolph.
If you want to boogie / dance yourself dizzy, it is the best place to be.

Jamaica Plain has a bunch of fun casual places to meet up & wind down on a Friday evening. We're starting with our first "JP Pub Crawl" event this month, with more to follow in September, October and beyond.

The Alchemist Lounge is a new addition to the JP pub/restaurant/nightlife circuit. Great food - very tasty, ample portions and very reasonably priced. Very mellow Lounge atmosphere in the pub/bar section , with separate formal dining area available too. Live music over weekends too, later on in the evening (after the RedSox finish playing!).
